Is sevDesk too much?
You don't need full bookkeeping — you need your receipts sorted and the Einnahmen-Überschuss-Rechnung done. That's exactly what Quitto is for, at a fraction of the price.
What you pay sevDesk for but don't need
sevDesk and Lexoffice cost €10–25 a month, indefinitely — with an invoicing module, bank connection, dunning and VAT pre-returns. As a solo self-employed person on the EÜR you use almost none of it and still pay every month.
What Quitto does instead
Photograph a receipt or import a photo/PDF/e-invoice — Quitto reads the date, amount and vendor (foreign currency too) and sorts it into the right category of your Einnahmen-Überschuss-Rechnung. In between, you always see income, expenses and profit. At year-end you export what you need: CSV (WISO), DATEV, a PDF receipt archive or the full tax-advisor package. Nothing more, and no retyping — on iPhone, iPad and Mac.
The price difference
sevDesk: roughly €150–300 per year, every year. Quitto: three receipts free, then €2.99/month, €24.99/year or €49.99 as a one-time purchase — then never again. You decide: rent or buy once.
When sevDesk is the better choice
Honestly: if you write invoices, need a bank connection, file VAT pre-returns or do double-entry bookkeeping — sevDesk is right for you. Quitto is for those who need exactly none of that.
Your data stays with you
No account, no servers of ours. Receipts and reports live on your device, optionally synced through your own iCloud between iPhone, iPad and Mac. sevDesk is cloud-bound — Quitto isn't.
